
Gold Bar resident Ken Catron proudly wears his 1980 Military National Finals Bull Ridding Championship Belt buckle, along with the rest of his riding gear. In the rodeo circuit a large buckle is refered to as a “dinner plate” because it is large enough to eat off. Catron won a nationally sponsored Best Dressed Cowboy Contest in 1992.

Manuel Diaz, who is billed as a ‘wolf man’ with the Sterling and Reid Brothers Circus. Diaz has a rare gene disorder causing excessive hair growth, and has been featured on television and in the Guinness Book of World Records. Diaz, from Loreto-Zacatecas, Mexico, performs with other family members greeting circus goers.
